Admission process
Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in our programs. We want you to take full advantage of our training so all applicants are asked apply for admission.
The application process consists of three steps:
Step I
Please click here to fill out the online application.
Step II
Upon completion of your application, please send us:

a 250-word essay in English describing your interest in the program you have selected,
and 250-word essay in your other language describing your interest in the program you have selected.
Please submit both essays together in 2 separate pdf documents. Please save your documents as "Essay-English-[insert your name].pdf" and "Essay-[insert language]-[insert your name].pdf". your e-mail with your essays to paulacou@unm.edu. On the subject of your e-mail, please write your full name in capitals.
Signed Language Interpreters: only certified interpreters are eligible for admission. Please complete the English essay described above and submit with a scanned copy of your valid membership card from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf showing your RID certification, or proof of your current state certification.
Step III
We will schedule an oral interview with NMCLA Director Paula Couselo and a member of the faculty. The interview can be conducted online or in person.
Upon review of ALL your credentials, we will inform you of the results and the registration process.
